Peter Kapitein, founder of Inspire2Live and a renowned patient advocate, has been appointed to the Advisory Board of ASCERTAIN. Peter emphasises, "inequity in access to treatments is a violation of human rights".

As a patient advocate, Peter is dedicated to connecting patients, researchers, clinicians, industry, payers, and regulators to advance cancer research, treatments, and care. His efforts include lobbying public authorities, healthcare organisations, insurance companies, and research institutes.

Peter's contributions include organising congresses, delivering lectures, and writing blogs, articles, and books on cancer-related topics. He is committed to challenging the medical-industrial complex and advocates for a shift towards prioritising the needs and interests of patients.

Peter's remarkable contributions have earned him an honorary doctorate from the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam in October 2012. Additionally, he co-founded Alpe d’HuZes, a charity foundation that has raised almost two hundred million euros for cancer research through its annual mountain cycling event.
