Bulgaria Launches National eHealth Pilot Programme

Each eHealth card stores the personal data of the patient, the issuer and card number as well as a security certificate. In addition, electronic prescriptions covered by the Bulgarian health insurance fund will be recorded on the card. The pilot programme will begin this month with the selection of 1,000 patients from Slivnitza and Aldomirovzi, who will be issued eHealth cards by their general practitioners as part of their regular doctor visits.
