His pioneering research delves into the nexus between health differentials and various work and employment conditions, with a keen focus on unstable employment circumstances and work intensity.

 

Not merely confined to groundbreaking research, Vanroelen is also a seasoned educator, imparting knowledge in introductory sociology, welfare state policies, and labour sociology to budding scholars.

 

His illustrious journey to this elevation includes a distinguished tenure at Vrije Universiteit Brussel, spanning over a decade, where he contributed significantly as a Professor in Interface Demography. Before this, he honed his research acumen through roles as a Postdoctoral Researcher and Scientific Researcher.
