Pinto, formerly at the helm of the World Heart Federation (WHF), has been a pivotal figure in the realm of cardiology. With a tenure spanning over three decades as Head of Cardiology at the University Hospital Santa Maria and as a Full Professor of Cardiology at Lisbon University Medical School, Pinto's contributions have been profound and far-reaching.


 
His illustrious career includes significant roles such as President of the European Society of Cardiology (ESC) and Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Lisbon. Pinto's expertise in cardiovascular medicine, coupled with his dedication to global health initiatives, has earned him recognition and respect on an international scale.


 
As a candidate for the presidency of the Portuguese Medical Association and with a surplus of accomplishments under his belt, Pinto remains committed to advancing the field of medicine and enhancing healthcare education.
