• Jochen Bergs

    Jochen Bergs is an emergency nurse and healthcare engineering professional with a multifaceted background in healthcare, education, and business economics. He holds a degree in emergency nursing, education sciences, and implementation science, in addition to his Ph.D. in business economics. Dr. Bergs currently holds the position of Professor of Health Services Research and Nursing Science at Hasselt University within the Faculty of Medicine and Life Science. Moreover, he serves as a Visiting Professor at the University of Applied Sciences and arts PXL in Belgium. At Hasselt University, Dr. Bergs also assumes the role of Program Director for the esteemed THINK3 Simulation & Innovation Lab. His research endeavors are dedicated to enhancing patient safety across a diverse spectrum of healthcare settings. Employing a dynamic approach that encompasses both quantitative and qualitative research methods, he strives to develop robust models and techniques for the sustainable implementation of innovative solutions aimed at elevating healthcare quality and patient safety.
