IPS will:
- Lead, shape and inform the infection prevention agenda locally, nationally and internationally.
- Influence and promote the evidence base for infection prevention practice that is adopted universally.
- Be the organisation of choice for all those involved in infection prevention to sustain improvements in practice.
Eight Strategic Objectives
IPS will:
- Provide a framework that enables all health and social care practitioners to function competently;
- Develop and create strategic alliances to progress the IPC agenda, locally nationally and internationally,
- Build and maintain research and development capability and capacity
- Develop, contribute to and influence the commissioning of resources for members to use in delivery of infection prevention activities underpinned by a robust needs assessment
- Educate and inform its members to promote best practice
- Be an effective organisation with a governance structure that enables it to deliver its strategy in an effective and efficient manner
- Promote and market a strong and effective brand in support of its vision and mission
- Add value to its members in the development and delivery of fit for purpose, novel and future focused accreditation, professional development and enhancement programmes, and exploration of fellowship programmes.
