The COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted the need for evidence-based decision making and collaboration across researchers, high-level institutions and nation states.
In July 2020, the International COVID-19 Data Alliance (ICODA) was launched with the mission of producing a safe global platform for data access, use and analysis that respects confidentiality. This platform will allow researchers across the world to have the necessary materials for the rapid advancement and discovery of solutions in the fight against the pandemic.
Since the launch in July there has been significant progress, which we are keen to share and build upon with our expanding partnerships across the globe.
The purpose of this event is to:
- Demonstrate tangible outcomes and achievements of ICODA and our workbench since the launch
- Update on progress on the first two ‘Driver Projects’
- Share our approach to Patient and Public Engagement (PPIE)
- To launch a call for new Driver Projects on COVID-19 data research, with a major focus on LMIC countries, in partnership with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation Grand Challenge Programme
