The ESC Congress Programme Committee is designing an outstanding programme with the main goal of improving patient care through education and integration of new research and guidelines into clinical practice.

This Year’s Spotlight: Personalising Cardiovascular Care

Tailoring or customising medical decisions to an individual, moving away from the one-size-fits-all approach to individualised treatment.

Discover sessions on:
♦ emerging or future prevention, diagnosis and treatment approaches based on genetics and “-omics”
♦ targeting treatments according to clinical phenotype
♦ individualised decision-making where there are treatment choices
♦ management of our increasingly complex and multimorbid patients
♦ co-decision making with patients

New ESC Clinical Practice Guidelines

In 2024, four major guidelines will be unveiled, presenting the most up to date recommendations to inform clinical practice and improve patient outcomes:

♦ Arterial hypertension
♦ Chronic coronary syndromes
♦ Atrial fibrillation
♦ Peripheral arterial and aortic diseases

Each guideline release will be followed by an 'Ask the Guideline Task Force' session, interactive Q&A with the guideline Task Force Chairs and Members to provide an in-depth understanding of the new guidelines.

In addition, 'Guidelines in Practice' sessions will showcase clinical cases to illustrate the practical applications of the new recommendations.

Late-Breaking Science Unveiled

Important new clinical trials will be presented and discussed with insights from key opinion leaders.

Clinical Implementation Track

The clinical implementation track will highlight sessions focused on the practical application of diagnostic approaches and treatments in clinical practice. How can we ensure the widest application of the evidence we have?

Digital Health

Digital Health is supporting and transforming healthcare. Again, this year, a Digital Health Stage will set the scene for scientific sessions related to digital transformation and its implications for daily practice today and in the near future.

Obesity Track

Obesity is a huge and increasing health problem globally that affects all aspects of cardiovascular practice. With the emergence of new dietary, pharmacological and interventional/surgical approaches to this problem it is vital that all cardiologists understand the importance of obesity and the emerging therapeutic options.

Patient engagement

The patient's voice is reflected throughout the programme, across all topic areas. Hear and learn from patients’ experiences!

General Cardiology for Physicians, Technicians, General Practitioners & Nurses and Allied Professionals

Organised in collaboration with the British Cardiovascular Society.

A programme designed specifically for Physicians with an interest in Cardiology, including Geriatricians, General Practitioners, Nurses, Technicians, Pharmacists, and other Allied Health Professionals, which will provide clinical practice updates on key advances across the spectrum of Cardiology.

Highlights for the Young Community

Follow your congress journey through sessions tagged by the ESC Committee for Young Cardiovascular Professionals particularly relevant for young cardiovascular professionals.

The committee is also in charge of putting together the clinical case programme.
