Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Telemetry Monitor Tech to join our team! This is a PRN position working 1-2 shifts per week, or as needed. The Telemetry Monitor Tech operates and troubleshoots all functions of the telemetry monitoring system and provides concise continual surveillance and analysis of cardiac rhythms.

Responsibilities

  • Monitors and interprets telemetry and communicates necessary information to appropriate nursing staff
  • Prepares and maintains telemetry documentation including charges, log book, and telemetry shift reports
  • Accurately records graphics and telemetry tracings
  • Makes note of irregular rhythms and monitors changes in heartbeat
  • Initiates telemetry service, per orders, in a timely manner, ensuring that accurate information is entered at the central monitoring station at the time of initiation of service
  • Appropriately applies telemetry leads on patients and secures telemetry unit
  • Ensures that monitors are functioning properly
  • Properly cleans and stores telemetry equipment and supplies
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 - 2 years of experience reading and interpreting telemetry monitoring systems
  • American Heart Association (AHA) approved Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire
