EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES
Improve their scientific knowledge of upper extremity surgery professional practices and patient care. Increase their knowledge and competency about cutting-edge clinical advances and new research findings in hand and upper extremity surgery. Enhance their ability to apply surgical skills and therapeutic treatment methods that are acquired through small group demonstrations. Achieve a broad understanding through professional interaction with colleagues from the United States and abroad. Evaluate a wide range of hand surgery/therapy products and technologies that may be of benefit to hand professionals. Apply innovative ideas to the business and financial aspects of hand-specialized practice. Evaluate the impact of new aspects of health care policies and medical ethics in hand surgery. CME MISSION
Purpose
The preeminent mission of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand (ASSH) is to provide state-of-the-art continuing medical education in the field of hand and upper extremity surgery. The ASSH is dedicated to fulfillment of this mission through the following means: Offering excellent educational programming enabling hand care professionals to provide superior medical care for the hand and upper extremity. Enhancing the dissemination of current research knowledge ensuring that hand care professionals have timely and relevant information available. Facilitating a career-long continuum of medical education. Fostering innovation in current medical education programs. Being a resource and model for course directors and educators involved in ASSH educational activities. Enhancing the value of care for hand and upper extremity problems by improving quality and patient safety.

ASSH perpetuates the CME mission through a multidisciplinary educational audience of regional national and international participants which include:
