Marianna Gardarsdottir has taken on the position of Director of Medical Imaging at Landspitali University Hospital. In this role, Marianna will oversee the medical imaging department and collaborate closely with the other new directors, as well as the entire team.

 

Marianna Gardarsdottir's professional journey began in 2001 as a Radiologist at Landspitali University Hospital. Her career has seen her hold various significant positions, such as Acting Chief of Radiology, Director of Diagnostics, Laboratories, and Blood Bank, Chief of Cardiac Imaging, and Program Director of the Residency Program. Additionally, Marianna has excelled in academia, serving as an Adjunct Professor of Radiology at the University of Iceland since 2013 and as an Assistant Clinical Professor since 2011.

 

Her international experience includes working as a Radiologist at Sahlgrenska University Hospital in Sweden. Marianna's involvement in professional organizations, including her past roles as President of the Radiological Society of Iceland and the Nordic Society of Radiology, and her contributions to the European Society of Radiology, further demonstrate her leadership capabilities and commitment to the field.

 

Marianna holds a Doctor of Medicine degree from Háskóli Íslands and a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Medicine from the same institution. She specializes in cardiac imaging, oncology imaging, and abdominal imaging.
