Agfa HealthCare has announced that at Arab Health 2016 it will demonstrate how its innovative platforms and solutions meet its goals for Innovating Visual HealthCare. In Imaging, it will showcase its MUSICA image processing platform, the mobile DX-D 100 unit with FreeView and the fully automated DR 600 X-ray room with ZeroForce technology. The focus in IT will be on the Enterprise Imaging platform. Arab Health 2016 runs from 25-28 January 2016 at the Dubai International Convention & Exhibition Centre in the United Arab Emirates.

A single, comprehensive platform for imaging: MUSICA

For decades, Agfa HealthCare's MUSICA software has been taking image processing to the next level. A truly intelligent and independent solution, it provides consistently high image quality to support diagnosis, while saving both time and effort. All of Agfa HealthCare's computed radiography (CR) and direct radiography (DR) solutions are supported by MUSICA, offering optimal ease of use and optimum output images, regardless of dose, collimation, body part or patient position. Enhancements to the latest generation MUSICA include no need to adjust window level and a balanced presentation of different tissue structures for comfortable reading.

The MUSICA platform is also part of Agfa HealthCare's support of ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) in patient radiation dose: automatically optimized images mean optimized doseAgfa HealthCare is committed to playing a part in working to provide diagnostic image quality at the lowest dose possible, through state-of-the-art technologies that also include cesium-based digital radiography and dose monitoring solutions.

Imaging on the go: mobile DR with FreeView technology

Agfa HealthCare will also showcase its FreeView technology, which makes the mobile DX-D 100 DR solution even more maneuverable. It combines full mobility and safer navigation with an unobstructed view, plus Agfa HealthCare's gold-standard MUSICA image processing. High-quality radiology exams can be efficiently performed in mobile environments, including intensive care units (ICUs), emergency departments, operating rooms or at the bedside, while the collapsible telescopic arm enables safer navigation through corridors, around the patient's bed or ward, etc.

High-productivity X-ray room with ZeroForce technology: DR 600

The fully automated, multi-detector, high-productivity and high-throughput digital DR 600 X-ray room will also be on view, offering innovative features that streamline workflow, increase throughput and enhance the experience of both patients and caregivers. Full automation, auto-positioning and auto-tracking allow light, fast and easy operation, while a choice of fixed, tethered and wireless detectors with Cesium Iodide (CsI) or Gadolinium Oxy-Sulphide (GOS) technology provides flexibility. CsI detectors also offer the potential for dose reduction[1]. With leading-edge solid state Automatic Exposure Control for high-speed accuracy and collimators with Dose Area Product meter, the DR 600 optimizes and automatically reports doses. The ZeroForce Technology offers smooth operation with almost zero effort.

Enterprise Imaging brings all medical images together on ONE platform

At Arab Health 2016, Agfa HealthCare will highlight its true Enterprise Imaging platform, which supports value-based care coordination and offers a broad range of functions that align with the enterprise's goal of facilitating quality outcomes. This single platform delivers IT cost savings, clinical efficiency and single platform standardization, while acting as a catalyst for innovation. Powerful, seamless and highly intuitive it simplifies the creation of a single, comprehensive patient imaging record, empowers physicians to make informed decisions through multi-specialty collaboration and helps improve the delivery of patient care.

Clinical Portal offers the first step in a "gateway to integrated care"

Visitors will also be able to discover Agfa HealthCare's Clinical Portal, which provides information from different sources for all care providers, inside and outside the hospital, for a patient-centric view of information and actions. This easy-to-integrate and -use solution for image and results delivery provides a comprehensive road map running from the Portal itself, through to true integrated care and the EHR.

"To innovate visual healthcare, we are calling upon all of our expertise and understanding of the healthcare industry. But innovations have to be usable. By developing one platform for IT and one platform for imaging we are simplifying even as we enhance performance," comments Franz Tiani, General Manager Direct Export, Nordic, Central & Eastern Europe of Agfa HealthCare. "We are very pleased to have so many innovative yet easy-to-use solutions to demonstrate at Arab Health, which is an important showcase for us."
