Agfa HealthCare announces that it will launch its new CR 12-X computed radiography (CR) system at ECR 2013. This affordable tabletop solution offers a cost-effective way for small clinics and private practices to benefit from the advantages of digital radiography. The system allows the customer to configure the workflow as needed, and makes no compromises in image quality.

The CR 12-X can be adjusted by the user to meet the specific need for high image quality and workflow. The user can select the default speed and resolution desired, and can also adjust this setting for any exam. The result is a customer-chosen optimal workflow. Its small size makes it also ideal for mobile applications. The robust design can withstand harsh environments and temperature changes. Reliable, as well as easy to maintain and use, it offers a lower total cost of ownership. Excellent network capabilities allow seamless integration with the clinic's environment.

The CR 12-X delivers excellent image quality, offering a choice of high-resolution scanning/plate options up to 60 plates an hour.  It comes with Agfa HealthCare's MUSICA² image processing software and NX workstation. MUSICA² analyses each image and automatically applies the appropriate image enhancement parameters independent of the exam type, while the NX workstation provides very fast image acquisition and a smooth workflow. This versatile solution can handle general radiography, orthopaedic, chiropractic and full leg/full spine (FLFS) applications.  The CR 12-X can be combined with Agfa HealthCare’s DRYSTAR 5302 imager or its SE Suite software to deliver a complete hardcopy or softcopy CR solution at an affordable price.

“The CR 12-X is further proof of our commitment to ensuring that all healthcare facilities – from the largest to the smallest – can benefit from the advantages of digital radiography,” comments Dirk Debusscher, Vice President Imaging at Agfa HealthCare. “It answers the customer’s need for a configurable workflow, with a cost-effective, versatile design.”
