Your role

You will be responsible for or involved in:

  • Development and validation of instruments aimed at measuring COAs /digital COAs in the context of clinical trials and/or observational studies
  • Development of COA / digital COA endpoint strategies for pharmaceutical and biotech companies
  • Independent research and thought leadership activities, presentations, and preparation of manuscripts for publication
  • Influencing customers and internal teams to adapt to novel ways of thinking and paradigm shifts; breakthrough strategy development with various customer stakeholders
  • Development of customer relationships and fulfill the trusted advisor role on COA / digital COA related statistical and psychometrics topics
  • Serve as team lead of the quantitative analysis workstream of projects of complex scope where an in-depth evaluation of multiple factors is required
  • Project scoping, analysis plan development and occasional analysis of COA / digital COA data, interpretation of COA / digital COA data, and explaining statistical methodology and results to different audiences (customers, regulatory agencies, etc.)
  • Business development support activities, including proposal writing and bid defense
  • Leadership of the development and maintenance of departmental policies, procedures, training and standards
  • Line management and coaching of team members

Job Requirements

  • Have a PhD or a Master degree in (bio)statistics, psychometrics, outcomes research, health services research, epidemiology or a closely related discipline and a strong interest to keep up to date with proceedings on statistical methodology in relevant fields
  • Have 5+ years of experience in pharma/life sciences industry or consultancy organization
  • Ability to program in one or more statistical software packages such as SAS, R or MPlus
  • Have advanced knowledge of or psychometric validation methods, including classical test theory and modern test theory, including IRT-based analyses and CAT/item banks
  • Knowledge of complex statistical methods that apply to Phase I-IV clinical trials (such as regression analysis, logistic analysis, survival analysis, mixed models repeated measures, missing data strategies, etc.) is a plus
  • Have the ability to effectively communicate statistical concepts
  • Flluent in English, have excellent written and oral communication skills, and have the ability to work in a multi-disciplinary environment
  • A team player and possess excellent interpersonal skills
  • Have the ability to communicate scientific evidence, with strong written and verbal presentation skills
  • Record of high-quality, peer reviewed COA, outcomes research and/or epidemiology research publications is a plus
  • Experience with PRO/COA requirements for regulatory and HTA/reimbursement agencies including a strong understanding of the FDA Patient Reported Outcomes Guidance is a plus
