We have an exciting opportunity to join BMS’s Innovative Medicines Business Unit working on a key brand primarily in Gastroenterology, Ulcerative Colitis but also managing our Neurology MS indication in Scotland and Ireland, both with the aim of improving & transforming the lives of patients, their families & the NHS.

 

We are therefore, seeking an exceptional Senior Brand Lead to join and lead the marketing team where you will be given accountability to build a best-in-class strategy and deliver truly impactful initiatives to drive sales whilst working in our fantastic BMS culture. Performance leadership and strategic acumen will be critical to drive success in this role as we launch into a highly competitive market across UK and Ireland where our immunology launches are key to global and affiliate future success.

Role Specification

 

  • This is a newly created role as we build our marketing team, you will be the senior marketing lead, responsible and accountable to ensure we have a truly competitive for strategic plan that is developed from insights and data. You will be the brand ambassador and therefore lead the cross functional team ensuring they deliver their tactics whilst leading the financial management of the brand budget across the portfolio.
  • You will draw on the cross functional team members to capitalise on their insight and experience, so that we adopt and drive a “One team” mindset, ensuring our strategy is aligned but also deliver challenge and agility where needed thus maximising brand performance. Therefore, you will demonstrate significant leadership and decision-making responsibility requiring a high degree of business acumen, allied to a deep understanding of our therapy area and evolving NHS environment.
  • Gastroenterology is a key future therapy areas for BMS with a number of assets in development and so will be a key member of the pipeline team and will support and take a key role in preparing for multiple future launches in the coming years.
  • You will have 1 direct report and so leadership will be a key attribute in this role but an area we are keen to develop for the right candidate who may not have officially led a team.

 

Essential

 

Qualifications, Skills & Experience:

 

  • Proven track record in marketing and leading all aspects of the marketing mix
  • Demonstrated impact and sales through leading a strategic plan
  • Experience in Immunology marketing
  • Leadership over a cross functional team
  • Leading with Innovation and ambition
  • Omnichannel leadership to ensure tactical plans give a tailored customer experience
  • Demonstrate understanding of the UK healthcare system and pharmaceutical industry
  • Understanding of project management methods, planning and implementing projects and tactical plans
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills
  • Ability to influence without line authority
  • Self-driven team worker able to work in a matrix environment
  • Computer literate –in Word, Excel, Email, Internet, and ability to pick up new in-house systems

 

Desirable

 

  • Gastroenterology therapeutic area experience
  • Leadership experience or acumen to lead a growing marketing team
  • Launching Spec Comms or CCG/ICS reimbursed low-vol/high-cost products into a highly competitive market
  • Understanding of health economics and cost-effectiveness data ability to use them to develop value messages or business impact models
  • Degree educated (or equivalent) and ABPI/ IPHA qualification (or equivalent)
