HealthManagement.org proudly welcomes Stephen Lieber as our new Health IT Editor-in-Chief. He takes over the role of Prof Werner Leodolter, who was the Health IT Editor-in-Chief from February 2021 to July 2022. 

Stephen Lieber is the Chief Analytics Officer at The College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME). CHIME is an executive organisation dedicated to serving chief information officers (CIOs), chief medical information officers (CMIOs), chief nursing information officers (CNIOs), chief innovation officers (CIOs), chief digital officers (CDOs) and other senior digital health leaders. 

Stephen Lieber was unanimously voted for the position by the Editorial Board members of HealthManagement.org. Eighty-nine board members were invited to cast their votes. Eighty-four responses were received, with 82 voting in favour of Lieber while two abstained. Stephen Lieber was thus selected based on a huge majority. 

Lieber served as President and CEO of the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) for 17 years. HIMSS is an American not-for-profit organisation dedicated to improving healthcare in quality, safety, cost-effectiveness and access through the use of information technology and management systems.

He is a Principal at Avisos Partners, LLC and a consultant and technical and business advisor to several associations and companies in governance development, strategic and operational analysis, international business expansion, data and analytics services and start-up companies.

His specialties include not-for-profit management, NFP governance, strategic planning, international business, healthcare policy, mergers and acquisitions, health information technology policy, data and analytics.
