The Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) has announced it is planning a digital event in lieu of the 2020 HIMSS Global Conference & Exhibition.

The congress was cancelled on March 6 in the face of the spread of COVID-19. This is the first time in 58 years that an HIMSS conference has been cancelled.

In a statement on its website, its goal was to make all of the sessions and panels from HIMSS20 available online.

It has invited delegates to flag sessions that were of interest in the HIMSS 20 programme for the organising committee to curate “an impactful digital experience.”

Those already registered for HIMSS20 will automatically have access to the event and will be registered for HIMSS21 in Las Vegas.
