As of May 4, Oliver Reichardt is new Chief Executive of the UK’s Royal College of Radiologists (RCR), succeeding Andrew Hall.

Prior to the current appointment, Reichardt, a charity and business change expert, worked with business productivity campaign Be The Business as Interim Director of Strategic Partnerships.

His varied charity and private sector work experience also includes positions with the Royal Society for the Encouragement of Arts, Manufacturing and Commerce (Director of Fellowship), the New Forest National Park Authority (Director of Delivery and Performance) and the National Council for Voluntary Organisations (Head of the Public Services and Partnerships team).

Reichardt himself is a committed charity volunteer being Chair of Sands (Stillbirth and Neonatal Death Society) and a trustee of active travel charity Sustrans. In the past he also was a member of a National Trust council.

Acknowledging his predecessor’s achievements, Reichardt is set to ensure the RCR continues to grow and develop. “These extraordinary times demonstrate more than ever the importance of medicine and health and social care provision, and I am particularly excited to be leading an organisation that supports and represents two vital medical specialties which transform the lives of millions of people,” he said in a statement.
