New Tomosynthesis imaging technology (3DQuorum): clinical advice and hands-on experience
Dr. Stephanie Sauer, Würzburg/Germany
60 minutes
This 60-minute hands-on reading workshop on high-resolution Tomosynthesis with a new imaging technology (3DQuorum) is intended for breast radiologists interested in learning more about the workflow impact of this technology (reading time, image transfer time and image storage requirements). After the introductory lecture covering published materials and clinical routine experience, the workshops facilitator will share clinical cases and the participants will be able to assess the cases on high-resolution mammography workstations. The hands-on reading of selected cases will allow the participants to form their own opinion. Discussion of the presented cases include a learning-oriented environment with a maximum of two participants per reading workstation.

Breast cancer screening in Saudi Arabia regional experience implementing tomosynthesis with synthetic 2D
Prof. Fatma Abdulla AL-Mulhim, Dammam/KSA
60 minutes
Starting with an introductory lecture addressing the problem of breast cancer in Saudi Arabia and the challenges of implementing tomosynthesis in the screening program. Followed by workshop covering how to implement high- resolutions tomosynthesis with synthetic 2D. The participant will be able to observe a variety of cases in a hand-on setting of high-resolution mammography after reading the cases will be discussed in a learning-oriented environment with a maximum of two participants per reading workstation

Future is coming: percutaneous excision of low grade DCIS
Dr. Gianfranco Scaperrotta, Milan/Italy

This invited expert talk will cover the emerging trend towards vacuum assisted excision of low grade DCIS. After a short introduction to the subject, a short review of current publications will be presented and discussed with the audience. Then the presenter will share his personal clinical experience presenting the ongoing study that provides therapeutic descalation with surgical omission in the presence of low grade DCIS and answer questions in a user friendly interactive setting.

Brevera: new generation VAB biopsy system in a clinical setting
Dr. Catherine Depretto, Milan/Italy
30 minutes
This talk will cover the latest trends in Vacuum Assisted Breast Biopsy (VABB) with real-time imaging in a routine clinical setting. The lecture part of the workshop will cover both theoretical and practical aspects of VABB real-time imaging with Tomosynthesis guidance with a particular focus on how real time imaging improves workflow and increases the radiologist’s confidence. The limited number of participants will allow a good understanding of the potential use in a clinical practice and how to address challenges during implementation.

Past, present and future of US in breast imaging

Dear breast imaging specialist,

It is our great pleasure to invite you to our Annual Scientific Meeting, which will take place in Valencia, Spain, from September 28 to 30, 2023. As in the past years, our meeting will be preceded by our special EUSOBI Training Course as well as an EYC Workshop.

This year’s meeting is organised in collaboration with the Spanish Society of Breast Imaging, SEDIM, with active participation of Spanish professionals.

We are highly appreciative of all the positive feedback we received from participants of previous meetings, and are hoping to again break a new record at this year’s meeting. While we aim for an high in-person attendance with the advantage of enjoying both, the scientific and social sides of EUSOBI, we are also planning to broadcast our main programme live in order to reach those who cannot travel to Valencia.

The highlights of this year’s Valencia meeting will feature:
– Updates of the BI-RADS lexicon
– Sessions on Screening, Staging and B3 lesions
– Hot topics in breast oncology
– Staying happy as a breast radiologist
– Advanced imaging techniques to characterize breast lesions
– Artificial Intelligence
– a MDT session on unusual cases and missed opportunities

We are proud to present a distinguished keynote speaker: Dr. Javier Cortes from Spain who will give us an overview of the future of oncology.

In our effort to extend bonds with other societies around the world, this year EUSOBI will meet the Colombian breast radiologists.

Young radiologists are indispensable now and in the future, and in this sense, we are happy to again announce the EUSOBI Young Club Workshop, which will be organised on Thursday, September 28, in the morning. Young radiologists can interact with and ask the experts about different professional issues.

Finally, we would like to invite you to our prestigious evening event in one of the most spectacular locations of Valencia: the Hemisfèric in the City of Arts and Sciences. Enjoy a superb dinner followed by enchanting dance music. Join us on Friday, September 29, and experience an unforgettable evening in Valencia.

We look forward to seeing you in Valencia!
