The ICU Management & Practice team mourns the loss of Paolo Pelosi, Professor of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care Medicine. He was Director of Anesthesia and Intensive Care, Director of Regional Poison Control Center, Director Specialty School in Anesthesiology and Intensive Care, IRCCS Policlinico San Martino Hospital, University of Genoa, Italy. He was also a member of the Editorial Board, ICU Management & Practice. 


Prof Pelosi was a visionary in anaesthesiology and was a remarkable physician, clinical researcher and mentor. He made significant contributions towards advancement in patient care. He was a major force behind the use of innovative approaches in the field of anaesthesiology and the use of safe and effective anaesthesia practices. 


Prof Pelosi had significant experience - from clinical work to training and education to clinical research. He was an active player in different scientific arenas and actively involved in educating and training the next generation of intensive care physicians. Throughout his career, Prof Pelosi remained an excellent teacher and mentor and played an important role in shaping the minds of future clinicians. 


ICU Management & Practice extends its heartfelt condolences to Prof Pelosi's family, friends, and the healthcare community. His numerous contributions will always be remembered, and his legacy will continue to guide and inspire others.
