Abstract submission
We welcome attendees to submit abstracts of their research or clinical practice. Abstracts will be selected to be presented in either a mini-symposium or poster presentation session.
The deadline for abstract submission will be Friday 25th August, 5pm (BST).
Abstracts should be submitted via Word document, 400 word count, using the following sections – Introduction, Aim, Method, Results, Conclusion.

Programme Overview
The 5th European Conference on Weaning & Rehabilitation in Critically Ill Patients is a multidisciplinary conference focusing on weaning and rehabilition in and after admission to the Intensive Care Unit, and is the annual event of the European ICU Recovery Network. The ICU RECOVERY NETWORK is an international, multidisciplinary and multiprofessional organization with more than 900 members representing all five continents, founded in 2011. ICU Recovery Network includes sub-networks, located in several countries. To date, there are sub-networks in Brazil, Denmark, Germany, Greece and Japan. International and European speakers include Margaret Herridge (Canada), Steffen Weber-Carstens (Germany), Peter Spronk (Netherlands), as well as a host of UK speakers including Nicholas Hart, Claire Black, Eve Corner, Leanne Aitken, Patrick Murphy and Valerie Page.
This year’s programme includes sessions on
– outcomes after critical illness
– skeletal muscle dysfunction in critical illness
– use of NIV in weaning from mechanical ventilation
– physiological assessment of exercise performance in the ICU
– patient-centred resources for supporting recovery from critical illness
– what does the ideal ICU look like?
– Sedation practice and delirium
– Workshop on Motivational Interviewing in Critical Care Rehabilitation

Our 2017 programme includes updates on current evidence and its application into the field of weaning and rehabilitation. Join a fantastic Faculty line-up and attend what promises to be an exciting forum to network and share advances and experiences in clinical practice around the management of critically ill patients, whilst enjoying the benefits of being in the heart of one of the greatest capital cities in the world!
