CleanSlate Centers (CleanSlate), a leading provider of outpatient medication-assisted addiction treatment nationally, announced that Chris Bove has been appointed chief executive officer for the company, effective June 6, 2022. The announcement follows Greg Marotta’s recent decision to transition from the company and is the result of a national search conducted by the Board of Directors.

With more than 20 years of executive leadership, Bove joins CleanSlate to build on the company’s legacy of mission-centered care delivery and strong growth in outpatient and virtual services to those suffering from mental and behavioral health, substance and alcohol use disorders.

“Chris is an exceptional executive leader with extraordinary passion, experience and operational skills,” said Greg Roth, chairman of CleanSlate’s board of directors. “His patient-centered, people-first approach and focus on high-quality patient care will be important in supporting the company’s mission and growth.”

Bove joins CleanSlate following his role as president and chief operating officer of D4C Dental Brands, serving specialty pediatric and orthodontic providers across 130 locations. Prior to that, he served as the chief operating officer of Correct Care Solutions (now Wellpath), a national provider of medical, mental and behavioral healthcare services to nearly 300,000 patients located in inpatient and residential treatment facilities, civil commitment centers, and local, state and federal correctional facilities.

Prior to joining Wellpath, he served as chief operating officer of a multi-service organization and served as an officer in the United States Army. Bove graduated with a bachelor’s degree in engineering management from the United States Military Academy at West Point and a master’s degree in business organizational management from the University of La Verne in California.

“I am honored to join the CleanSlate team and humbled by our mission to save lives,” said Chris Bove. “The number of people suffering from addiction and mental and behavioral health challenges has skyrocketed through the pandemic. CleanSlate is well-positioned to bring resources and leadership to communities and families who need our support. I am excited to be part of the CleanSlate team.”

Bove succeeds Greg Marotta, who led the company since 2016.

“On behalf of our board and leadership, we are grateful to Greg Marotta for his tremendous leadership over the past six years,” said Roth. “Greg’s passion for patient care and focus on growth has propelled CleanSlate from nine centers in a single state to 80 centers across 10 states. Under Marotta’s watch, CleanSlate has cared for more than 113,000 patients and achieved the high standard of 100% CARF accreditation.”
